Thinking about planning a remodel for your mobile home? Taking your remodel one room at a time is an effective way to organize your plans and create a look that “flows” from one room into the next. Of course, if you’ve never done this before, it might be a bit challenging – but it’s nothing you can’t handle with a few tips and tricks!

Think about how much space you have and how much space you want to fill

A good way to begin a remodel plan is to think about how much space there is in each room you’re renovating. Additionally, you should think about how much space you want to fill in each of these rooms. Do you want a minimalist look in the kitchen? A relaxing boho vibe in your guest bedroom? Depending on the different styles you choose, you’ll need to plan out the correct color themes and a sufficient amount of decor in order to achieve the look you want in each room.

Think about lighting for each room

Obviously, you’ll need to think about what you want out of the lighting situation for each room. Some parts of your mobile home need plenty of lighting. The living room, for example, will look friendly, open, and welcoming with plenty of natural lighting. Meanwhile, you might enjoy creating a small “den” area with lower lighting for extra coziness in another part of your home.

Lighting in a home

Believe it or not, these are things you’ll need to think about while you’re creating an initial plan for your remodel. To make sure that a room stays well-lit throughout your renovation, you’ll need to ensure that you aren’t planning to place large furniture or other things in ways that block natural light coming from your windows or skylight. Based on the design of the room, you should also plan out the correct areas to place lamps or other light sources if necessary. Even the color scheme of the room matters – lighter colors are optimal for making a room appear well-lit and spacious.

What about rooms with lower lighting? Well, as you might imagine, darker colors are better for giving a room a more closed-in look. If the room has windows, you can always plan to block out the light with blinds or curtains. If you’re interested in a room that’s dark all day (perfect for taking naps!) you can even try thick blackout curtains.

Changing up the decor scheme in each room

Of course, changing up the decor in different rooms is one of the most pivotal parts of a remodel. Changing or even just rearranging your decor can create a whole new look in a room. Since this is such an important step of the remodel process, it should definitely get some attention in your remodel planning.

Choose a style

Start by choosing a style you like for each room. Obviously, a big part of this is just deciding what you like. If you want a bohemian bedroom, then so be it. However, there’s more to choosing a style than just picking something you like. You should also think about the shape, size, and location of the room relative to the rest of your mobile home, and what types of decor will go with certain types of rooms. Sometimes, the general layout of a room is better suited to one style than another.

Plan out the style you’ve picked for each room

Next, you’ll need to plan out the style you’ve picked for each room. First of all, this means choosing decor pieces to bring together the look you’ve chosen. For example, an industrial look usually requires certain types of lighting.

Second, you should plan out the space in each room in order to make sure you can accommodate all the important decor elements. If you’ve decided you want a large sofa in your living room to give it a cozy feel, make sure you have enough room before buying anything. If you’re looking to add some cute end tables to your design, think about where you want to put them and if you’ll have enough room in those areas.

Plan out a color theme to match your decor

Unless your home’s color theme already matches the new style you’re going for, you’ll need to choose a color theme for each room as well. This is especially important in relation to pre-planning your decor and decor arrangement. Planning the color theme and decor setup at the same time is a good way to ensure that your whole style comes together well rather than clashing in the end.

Take your renovation one step at a time

A home remodel can be a long and challenging process. Sometimes, taking it one room at a time is a good way to keep things from getting too complicated. Fortunately, the idea of doing your remodel one room at a time is a good way to make sure everything comes together and looks great – and who doesn’t want that? A beautiful home remodel is even more attractive when you can get it done with less stress and worry!
