#1: DIY Fall Potpourri

Potpourri is a year-round favorite, but have you thought about creating your own autumn-themed potpourri? This year, you can furnish your mobile home with DIY potpourri that will look outstanding and smell even better. There are a few different ways that you can do this. For example, you might want to make “dried” potpourri, or you might enjoy “simmering” potpourri instead.

A recipe for dried potpourri

To make dried potpourri, you’ll need to slice and dehydrate some oranges, lemons, apples, and pears. (You can easily dehydrate these fruits by putting them in your oven until they are fully dried. The oven should be on its “warm” setting.)

Seasoning

After the slices are completely dried and cooled, you’ll add cloves, bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and some orange and clove essential oils. Place the mixture in a plastic bag, seal it up, and give it a shake. Find a creative jar or basket to hold your finished product, and you’re ready to go!

Some elements of simmering potpourri

If you’d like to make simmering potpourri, you should choose ingredients that you can simmer in a saucepan or crockpot. For example, you might include orange and/or lemon peel, fresh lemon and/or orange slices, and cranberries. To season your potpourri, you can use cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, or any seasoning that catches your fall fancy.

Preparation

After you’ve assembled all your ingredients, you’ll need to add water and bring your mixture to a boil. Once it boils, turn it down to a simmer and enjoy the fragrance that will waft throughout your mobile home! Safety caution: make sure you keep refilling the water as it boils down.

#2: Choose some fall candles

If potpourri isn’t providing enough of a fall aroma for you, you can always use candles! They’re a foolproof decoration, and they’re one of the easiest ways to make your mobile home look and smell great. Since most people love candles, and most people love fall, there are an abundance of fall-scented candles out there to choose from, such as apple cinnamon, pumpkin souffle, or cranberry and nutmeg.

Unfortunately, candles may not be an option for everyone. If you have children or pets, you probably already know this. Don’t miss out on your favorite holiday fragrances because you can’t use candles – this year, try essential oils instead!

#3: Diffuse essential oils

Like potpourri and candles, essential oils are useful at any time of the year. When fall rolls around, however, it’s time to pick out the oils that remind you the most of an unforgettable fall season!

Nutmeg

Nutmeg – it’s a scent that has become well associated with autumn and the holiday season. If you’re a big fan of nutmeg when it comes to your fall preparations, you can experience it in a new way this year. Blend a few drops of nutmeg essential oil with water in a diffuser, and set the diffuser to “mist.” Before long, the whole room will smell like nutmeg!

Wild orange

Another popular essential oil that you can use as a fall fragrance is wild orange. As its name implies, this essential oil provides a pleasant smell similar to that of an orange. It is also good for use in a diffuser, and it’s likely to be a quick favorite at a party, since it can help to enliven and energize the mood.

Other essential oils benefits

Not as interested in a festive fall smell this year? You can also use essential oils to help purify the air and enhance your mood. Essential oil blends for your diffuser are easy to make and may be especially helpful during the colder months when the air inside your mobile home starts to feel stale.

#4: A real tree

It might sound obvious, but if you want to give your home a natural woodsy scent, try bringing in a real cedar tree for Christmas this year instead of hauling the fake tree out of the closet again. Not only will your Christmas tree look and feel more authentic, you’ll also be able to enjoy the genuine, irreplaceable aroma of cedar!

Remember to enjoy what you’ve created

When it comes time to decorate your mobile home for fall this autumn, don’t forget to enhance your holiday experience by incorporating some fall aromas into the mix! Hopefully, you’ll love the festive fall atmosphere that you’ve brought together. Of course, no matter what method you choose to create fall fragrances for your mobile home, it’s important to take time to sit back, relax, and enjoy your work. You’ll have earned it!
